Camden
County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. will join Lawnside Mayor
Mary Ann Wardlow and members of Lawnside Borough Council today at a
ground breaking ceremony for a new 56,000 square foot ShopRite grocery
store.
Located
at 130 White Horse Pike in the Historic Lawnside Shopping Center, the
new ShopRite of Lawnside will be operated by Somerset Stores, LLC, which
is owned by David and Renee Zallie. With this new store, ShopRite of
Lawnside will bring more than 200 jobs to the community.
"We're
very excited about ShopRite opening in our community," said Lawnside
Mayor Mary Ann Wardlow. "In addition to getting a top quality grocery
store, we also look forward to the creation of much-needed jobs. The
governing body of Lawnside places great importance on quality economic
development, and we consider the opening of this ShopRite a big step

"Sixty
seven percent of the air through the duct system was going into the
attic," Bubak said. "We were able to perform an energy audit to do a
diagnosis on the home, which tells us what it would do for the home in
the way of efficiency."
Foam
insulation now fills the attic and roof line, keeping temperatures from
reaching nearly 160 degrees during the hot summer months. Now, the
attic stays within ten degrees of the comfortable room air below.
The
air conditioning system was re-engineered and downsized, while 75
percent of the duct work was removed to shorten and improve air flow.
Conditioning and circulating the air removes dust and allergens. Double pane windows also improve energy performance.
"They block the heat from coming in, but they still allow sunlight, so you don't lose the brightness of your home," Bubak said.
CFL
bulbs in the bathrooms and LED lights in the kitchen burn cooler and
last longer. ENERGY STAR appliances fill the kitchen and laundry room.
This energy smart home even boasts a solar water heater, allowing the
sun to heat your water instead of natural gas.
Approximately
500,000 homes in the valley were built before energy efficiency was
introduced in building codes. Many incentives exist to help pay for
energy improvements.
